The beauty of love is on show at the Opera Gallery
The Opera Gallery was all loved up as the doors swung open to its most recent exhibition, In The Mood For Love. With works from Damien Hirst and Robert Indiana to Michael Forbes and Marc Chagall, the gallery was a feast of all things pretty and pink.
The exhibition coincided with the London Fashion Week and the Opera Gallery had teamed up with Fashion TV to celebrate the link between art, fashion and love. The eclectic mix of works on show varied from pop art to surrealist pieces and highlighted how the theme of love has inspired artists encompassing genres and generations alike in such different ways.
The variety of works on show was inspiring. The vivid colours and textures in Johanne Corno's Face on Green show a woman so captivatingly sexy that guests stopped to adore it, whereas Jirapat Tatsanasomboon's Lovers 3, a painting of a woman in Superman's embrace, induced many adoring laughs. But if love inspires adoration and laughter, then it's hitting the mark.
The exhibition is open until 30.9.2008
