Could you be art on Trafalgar Square?

One and Other on Sky Arts

In what is set to be the highlight of the summer, Sky Arts and the creative company Artichoke are working with artist Antony Gormley to bring you One & Other. In the winning commission for the Fourth Plinth on Trafalgar Square, we will place a different person on the plinth for one hour, 24 hours a day, for 100 days. During the project, 2400 people will become living sculptures, creating a unique snapshot of our extraordinary, multi-layered society.

Antony Gormley is one of Britain's best-known artists. His Angel of the North, situated beside the A1 in Tyneside, is one of the best-known pieces of public art in the country. The Fourth Plinth, built in 1841, was originally intended for an equestrian statue but it was left empty due to lack of money. For the last decade, the plinth has become the location for specially commissioned art works by contemporary artists, including Mark Wallinger and Rachel Whiteread.

This is excellent, how can I apply to be on the plinth?
The dedicated One & Other website will act not only as an entry point for information on the project, but also where people register and apply to stand on the plinth. Once the project gets going, you'll also be able to see 24-hour live streamed content, interviews and a back catalogue of every hour of the 100 days. Anyone interested can register their interest and 2400 participants will be randomly chosen from the applicants. The lucky participants can then create their own profiles on the One & Other website, upload videos and encourage people to come and see them become art.
