Portrait of the outstanding German dancer

Director
Reiner E Moritz

This dance-filled profile of German dancer Sabine Kupferberg showcases her distinctive talent in a wealth of performance extracts and in rehearsal footage. With contributions by fellow dancers and choreographers Jiri Kylian, Nacho Duato and Gereard Lemaitre, and, introduced by the artist herself, performance extracts from ballets including L'histoire du soldat, Raptus, Torso, On the Overgrown Path, Sinfonietta, Symphony of Psalms, Off White, Susto, Obscure Temptations, Evergreens, Silent Cries, Marion/Marion, No Sleep, Old Man and Me and Nocturne.

A warm and engaging person, both on and off stage, she conveys her passion for dancing as she talks about her unusual life, her career with NDT and Cranko's Stuttgart Ballet, her work with many of today's most important choreographers - including Hans van Manen, William Forsythe, Mats Ek and Christopher Bruce - her love of the contemporary repertoire and her exceptional creative partnership with NDT's Jiri Kylian. The result is an intimate and revealing insight into the life and work of a great dancer.
