The company's designers, composers and choreographers included George Balanchine, Pablo Picasso, Claude Debussy, Salvador Dali and Igor Stravinsky, among many others.

This is the fascinating story of what began as a group of Russian émigrés who had never danced in Russia, and evolved into two rival dance troupes who fought the infamous 'ballet battles' that consumed inter-war London society.
