Tobey Maguire and Jake Gyllenhaal are in negotiations to star in Jim Sheridan's forthcoming 'Brothers'.  The film, which is a remake of Susanne Bier's Danish war drama, tells the story of a man who's sent to fight in Afghanistan while his roguish brother cares for his wife and child.

Maguire is being lined up to play the elder borther, while Gyllenhaal would play the younger.  The remake is set to start filming in November.  The original film starred Connie Nielsen, Ulrich Thomsen and Nikolaj Lie Kaas.
