French cellist Xavier Philips here analyses and plays the Sarabande from the Cello Suite No 1 by JS Bach (1685-1750), and also performs one of the dozen cello concertos by Luigi Boccherini (1743-1805 - he also wrote 91 string quartets and 137 quintets!). In his day he was one of the best-known classical composers after Haydn.
