Pianist Jason Moran is to form a UK/US group to tour the project Monk At Town Hall 1959 for the Contemporary Music Network in the UK next May, in a project that combines his trio with the UK horn section of Jason Yarde, Byron Wallen, Fayez Virjii, Andy Grappy and Denys Baptiste. The project is inspired by Thelonious Monks The Town Hall Concert and incorporates samples of music, conversations and photos of Monk from the archives of W. Eugene Smith.
