This performance was originally planned as a follow-up to the wildly popular 'At Folsom Prison' concert. In response to the popularity of that concert, Johnny Cash had been set to create an eponymous album at the San Quentin prison in California.
However, he ended up giving one of his rawest and wildest performances, delighting in feeding off his audience and reflecting the dramatic shift in the band's dynamics following the recent death of guitarist Luther Perkins. A performance that is widely regarded as one of his best a great chance to see this fabled music event.

I just saw an advert saying Live in San Quentin is being played on your channel. I searched forward a week and nothing! Why tease us like this?
