The Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra is nowadays regarded as a sensation in the classical music and consists of graduates of the unique Venezuelian music education system. The Venezuelan Brass Ensemble, founded in 2003, make up part of the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra and perform two pieces composed by their own members. The Alexis Cárdenas’ ensemble consists of eight of the best known musicians of Venezuela, playing a mixture of improvised virtuosity and tender melancholy of the various Venezuelan folk music traditions.
