A profile of the inimitable Miles Davis

Miles Davis

This revealing homage to the great Miles Davis features interviews with peers and colleagues including Carlos Santana and Joni Mitchell, interspersed with Davis' legendary 1970 Isle of Wight live performance of songs from the acclaimed album, Bitches' Brew.

As well as featuring the 1970 Isle of Wight performance, the film also deals with Miles Davis' change to 'electric' fusion music, expressing his constant need for creativity and innovation even in the face of public and critical hostility.

The programme also features interviews with - and music from Davis' colleagues and band-mates, including Gary Bartz, Dave Holland, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Airto Moreira, and many others, explaining in both words and performance how they, themselves were influenced by Miles at that time and how in turn they influenced him.
