Oh Pretty Woman
A special one-time event documenting one of rock and roll's greatest and most unique performances. Recorded live at the Cocoanut Grove in Los Angeles, Roy Orbison is joined by an eclectic ensemble of rock and roll superstars.
With a career that spanned over four decades (and which would surely have continued were it not for his untimely death in 1988) and encompassed rock and roll, country and blues, Orbison's success and influence is self-evident. By the mid-60s, his signature style was set. His typically melodramatic but uncluttered ballads mourned lost love or celebrated the underdog; melodies were rhythmically strong; his glasses were dark and his operatic three-octave voice was often used at the higher end of the scale in a falsetto popularly found on hits such as Only The Lonely, Crying and Oh, Pretty Woman.
We pay tribute to his musical contribution with this legendary performance which captures one of his most emotionally powerful and historically important concerts. Staged just a year before his death, it was recorded by contemporary singing stars as a tribute to Orbison's contribution to music. The all-star line-up included T Bone Burnett, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Jackson Browne, KD Lang and many more. A heartwarming reminder of Orbison's achievements and a treat for fans of popular music you'll be humming those infections tunes for days afterwards

This must be the best Roy Orbison soundtrack ever with some of the biggest names in music playing second fiddle to “The Big O”.
Why can’t I find it on a Cd album?

quite brilliant, the guitar work from James Burton and Springsteen was breathtaking and when you consider how humble Roy Orbison was about his singing and stage performances, a lost talent in the world of rock, pop and music
