Programme
Bruckner : Os justi
Mendelssohn : Denn hat er seinen Engeln
Messaien : O sacrum convivium
Verdi : Quatro pezzi sacri - Ave Maria
Reger : Der Mensch lebt und besteht; Ich liege und schlafe ganz in Frieden
JS Bach : Singet dem Herrn BWV225 - Alles was Odem hat

Performers
Bavarian Radio Choir
Michael Glaser (conductor)

A moving and profoundly beautiful recital of unaccompanied sacred choral music from the beautiful Benedictine Abbey in Plankstetten, Bavaria. The music comes from many eras - the golden Baroque of Bach, through the chocolatey Romantic textures of Bruckner and Reger and the operatic drama of Verdi, to the modernism of Messiaen.

The beautiful ensemble of the Bavarian Radio Choir makes every texture crystal clear, but make no mistake, some of this music - especially the Bach - is surprisingly difficult, as anyone in an amateur choir might know!
