Definitive performance from the pioneering band

For anyone who can't remember the 70s (whether they were there or not) T-Rex were the original glam rock band. The group's pastoral, mythology-infused style of rock and infectious rhythms, not to mention lead singer Marc Bolan's decadent, whimsical dandy persona influenced a generation of songwriters and performers and spawned a revolution in popular music.
Born to Boogie is Bolan's own rock film, recorded live at the Wembley Empire in March 1972. Directed by Ringo Starr, the movie features the surreal 'mad hatter's tea party' stage vignette which we won't attempt to describe here and classic T-Rex songs including Get It On, Jeepster, Telegram Sam, Hot Love, plus specially-filmed versions of Children Of The Revolution and Tutti Frutti featuring Elton John on piano and Ringo Starr on drums. Happy and unpretentious (though self-consciously surreal), it is a unique memoir of a colourful band whose influence is still felt even now.
