VIDEO: TALK TALK LIVE IN MONTREUX >>

One of the most innovative and original British bands of the Eighties, Talk Talk enjoyed a string of successful albums in the UK and Europe. The band’s only performance at the Montreux festival in 1986 caught them at the height of their powers and popularity (their album The Colour of Spring had just been released), and this programme captures a spectacular performance. With the core trio of vocalist Mark Hollis, drummer Lee Harris and bassist Paul Webb extended to an eight-piece band, including two keyboard players and a brace of percussionists, Talk Talk convincingly recreate their lonely-yet-lush studio sounds.

With a set list packed with hit singles and lead singer / main songwriter Mark Hollis’ charismatic performance they delivered an outstanding concert that draws a great response from the packed Swiss crowd. Sadly, soon after this concert Talk Talk quit live performing for good.

Tracklist:
1. Talk Talk
2. Dum Dum Girl
3. Call In The Night Boy
4. Tomorrow Started
5. My Foolish Friend
6. Life's What You Make It
7. Does Caroline Know
8. It's You
9. Living In Another World
10. Give It Up
11. It's My Life
12. I Don't Believe in You
13. Such A Shame
14. Renee

Mark Hollis – vocals
Paul Webb – bass
Lee Harris – drums
John Turnbull – guitar
Rupert Black – keyboards
Philip Reis – percussion
Leroy Williams – percussion

Thank you so much for the classic Talk Talk gig that you showed from Montreux tonight, it was one of the highlights of the festive period.
I loved the band in the eighties and it was so wonderful to see them again at their peak. Mark Hollis had a voice that could not be bettered.
Great programming!

I reckon they were at their peak with Spirit of Eden, I Believe in You is heart wrenchingly beautiful.

Extraordinary to see the band just as they would disappear into the wings for good, then go on to offer up two of the most seminal recordings of any British band. And his ponytail is nice.

I have been a fan since 1993, when i finally found out that the band who made “life´s what you make it” was called Talk Talk grin
Loved the dvd, and my god they can play.
Does anyoe know the brand of the keyboard used in this concert? It´s the keyboard that both players have highest in their setup - i tried to find out for weeks now - it´s killing me!
Please help - thanks.

@Brian, Denmark - hahaha It was bugging me too - so much so that I spent a week researching it (and even contacted Ian Curnow via myspace) Turns out Ian was using 2 Roland MKB-300 midi controllers, as was Rupert for his top keyboard.

Great to see this band again.  Saw them support Duran Duran at Hammersmith when Duran Duran were at their peak and they blew them away and stole the show!!!!  Unbelievably well crafted tracks.  Love all members contributions & sounds.  Stands the test of time brilliantly.  Thanks and good programming.  Love to see a reunion to see if they could recapture the moments : ))

Qaulity of vocals had me glued to the box. Did Mark Hollis know how good he was.
The band was so tight, superb concert. Glad I bought the CD at the time.
