A little worried about another series introduced by Celebratry Musician but this weeks Ravel programme turned out of be the famous Lenny Bernstein Paris concert of Ravel recorded in the Theatre Des Cahmps Elysee in 1975. Why no detailed information about this broadcast. For those that missed it, shame, here is the programme: All Ravel concert with Leonard Berstein and the National Orchestra of France. Alborada Del Gracioso - Scherazade (Marilyn Harn) Tzigane (Boris Belkin) Piano Concerto in G Major (Lenny Bernstein himself) La Valse and the encore Bolero. Will now have to set the Sky+ just in case another gem is broadcast.
Do you have the rights to other older UNITEL programmes, perhaps the companian to the above “Bernstein in Paris - Berlioz Requiem”

Like Linda I too was greatly impressed by this superb concert. I have searched the internet in vane to see if there was any way I could purchase a copy of the performance. I know that the suprano Natalie Dessay has had medical problems but is now singing again. I hope that this concert is available somewhere accessable. Can anyone help?

I enjoyed Dvorak’s New World performance tonight but there were no credits of any kind at the end or any details about the encore.  This is surely a basic requirement and is disrespectful to both audience and performers.  I don’t think Ms. Mae would appreciate being ignored in this way.

This potentiaslly first-rate series is marrred by two major calamities. 1. Vanessa-Mae speaks so fast in her introductions that it is impossible to take-in most of what she is saying. 2. The concerts are unique in my TV experience is adopting the bizarre (and rather arrogant) stance of not giving, via sub-titles, the names of the works (and composers) as each new piece begins. Very bad, very irritating, and ultimately very cavalier and downright amateurish on the part of Sky Arts.

Just finished watching the breathtaking Eurokonzert conducted by Claudio Abbado, only to be hit with a punch back to (vulgar) earth by an advert for Suggs’ Italian Job. It started the second the image of the splendid Teatro Massimo and the applauses faded...no credits, no respite - just straight to “Don’t watch that, watch this!” of the advert. How insensitive and disappointing on the part of Sky Arts 2…
