David Bowie's final performance as Ziggy Stardust
Rock legend David Bowie performs as his androgynous alter ego in this rare 'retirement' concert film, directed by D A Pennebaker.
3 July 1973 witnessed a monumental concert at the Hammersmith Odeon, where David Bowie made his last ever appearance in his Ziggy Stardust guise.
Rolling Stone billed it as "The movie of the concert of the album that changed your life ...Bowie propelled rock 'n' roll spectacle into the 21st century with his knockout portrayal of the paranoid, megalomaniac rocker Ziggy Stardust and the glitz-rock blitz of his combo, the Spiders From Mars (one of the 20 concerts that changed rock 'n' roll)".
Classic tracks include:
- Ziggy Stardust
- Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud
- Space Oddity
- Changes
- All The Young Dudes
- Suffragette City
- Rock 'n' Roll Suicide
Also with covers of songs by The Rolling Stones and Lou Reed.
