I am a dedicated Vargas fan and I have long been an admirer of Gheorghiu, but this was as bad as it gets. Iwas left speechless by this production. Will somebody please take me to tast and tell me I am wrong to say so.

Carl Page, You were right to say so.
And why do certain audiences always interrupt the singers by applauding arias that they recognise? Does the company like it? There was one aria, beautifully sung, which is not really popular outside the actual staging, which went unapplauded. Tough on the singer, I thought.
