The Pavarotti & Friends annual charity concert unites the worlds of rock, classical, pop and blues. The late, great tenor is joined on stage in this 2001 concert from his home town of Modena by a host of international stars such as Tom Jones and Deep Purple, raising funds in support of War Child for ambitious children's projects. The proceeds of this concert were given to benefit the United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR), with the money earmarked for basic medical care for Afghan children and the set-up of schools in refugee camps in Pakistan.
