Contemporary programming Sky Arts 1's schedule is crammed full of the best contemporary arts programming, such as live rock concerts, documentaries and films. With ever more original commissions, including viewers' favourite The Book Show, live broadcasts (eg Antony Gormley's One & Other (4th Plinth), Hay Festival), entertaining acquired programming (eg Inside The Actors' Studio, HBO's In Treatment) and incredible live performances and interviews with the big names in rock music from the 60s to today (Jimi Hendrix live at the Isle of Wight '70, The Killers live at Hard Rock Calling '09).
Classical focus Sky Arts 2 is the home of Sky Arts’ more classical arts content, featuring the best of the world's operas from New York's Met Opera, Glyndebourne and La Scala, the big names from the world of jazz, an eclectic mix of contemporary and classical dance and concerts with the great conductors like Daniel Barenboim, Gustavo Dudamel and Simon Rattle. 2010 will feature a Gilbert & Sullivan month and sees more feature films coming to the channel's schedule.
Culture in high definition Sky Arts 1 HD and Sky Arts 2 HD simulcast all content from their standard definition channels, delivering spectacular clarity on the channel’s visual arts and live performance genres.
