I would like to take part in this project for two reasons, the first is due to my age of 62 years, I been around for sometime, the second reason is that I have never in my life had a decent photograph taken and would welcome the opportunity for a reknowned photographer like John Rankin to take up the challenge.

This is such an awesome prize, and I also have 2 reasons. The first is that I am the most unphotogenic person I know, and it’s very very hard to get a good shot without my face being wrong or my pose being odd… that is a challenge! The second is that this year I decided to go mad and dye my hair deep pink, so it should make for an interesting photograph!

Today I received my bus pass, yet where I live there are no buses. In this land of contradictions where our population will soon be more old than young, the mature are still being rejected (actresses , TV presenters, etc.). I refuse to exchange my colourful past for a black and white future. I want to take part in projects which intrigue and inspire whilst keeping my ageing adrenelin flowing.

I would love to take part in Rankin Live. I’m an average looking 35 year old mum of one, and for most of my life have felt that I fade into the background when it comes to my friends, they are all beautiful and I’m ‘quirky’ looking - the only comment I seem to get is that I have amazing eyes (a lovely comment and they are definitely my best feature, but one I liken to ‘you have a nice personality’ ha!’). I was flicking through Elle magazine while at a play group with my daughter and was blown away at the photos Ian had taken. Four members of the public, average looking and beautiful in their own right, with quirky, interesting faces, looked AMAZING! And had a photo that they could treasure for life.
I would love to shine in one photo, rather than fade into the background. Eyes are the doorway to your soul apparently, and I know Ian would take an amazing picture.

I went to this exhibition in its opening weekend, and it was the best I’d ever been to. Now it was actually my first photography exhibition, but I could of stayed there for hours and hours, some great images, I’d love to have them all! Definatley worth a look! I have applied through the Rankin Live website to be shot by him, but I wont hold my breath...he has more interesting people than me to photograph :o)

I’d love a photo taken that I can be proud of. All my life my photos have not shown my true self. My grandma put it exactly into words. She lives in Singapore and came over for my sister’s wedding when I was 22. Over the years my Mum had been sending photos of me growing up. As I walked through my parent’s front door, my gran was coming down the stairs. She took one look at me and said ‘Oh my God, don’t you look better in real life than you do in photos’. This has stuck with me for the past 20 years, hence me wanting a decent photo.

An amazing experiance as my daughter Chantelle was the subject of a recent Rankin shoot in London. As a photographer it was certainly an experiance for me and one or two tips were picked up along the way. Here’s hoping it will all happen again soon!

I recently had my picture taken by RANKIN in September, and it was a fantastic experience to meet my idol and get my picture taken by one of the best photographer in the world. The thing what I love about him, is his attitude, and he knows what he wants, and he gets it from his subject he is taking a picture of.
