Theatre in ten minutes!

Bite-Size Plays

Sky Arts’ Bite-Size Plays at 10pm on Wednesdays from 9 June, Sky Arts 2/HD

All good things are said to come in small packages –diamonds, Sky+, Johnny Cash DVDs– but why restrict such a genius policy to just material things? To solve this conundrum, we’ve teamed up with the White Room Theatre and Film group to bring you Bite-Size Plays. It’s a play in 10 minutes, what more could anyone want!

The award-winning White Room Theatre and Film group have performed their stimulating and thought-provoking Bite-Size Plays at festivals all around the world to rave reviews and sold-out audiences.

Bite-Sized Plays on Sky Arts:

The Interpreter by Jonathan Kaufman
US Ambassador meets Luketian Ambassador trapping their Interpreter between a ‘war’ - of egos. A comedy that plays on East-West tensions and pokes a little fun at American global interferences and male ego disguised in a diplomatic context.

Nice People by Gareth Brierley
A comedy about two unlikely candidates who fall in love – smack in the midst of a bank robbery. One is a teller, the other, one of the robbers.

Tell Someone Who Cares by Sara Browne
The insincere coffee ‘chat’ – a comedy featuring two women who share their true thoughts about life and each other to camera while chatting over coffee.

Saturday Night/Sunday Morning by Alex Broun
After a drunken stop-over, Matt tries to make Claire feel better about the night’s events. Touching and charming drama.

Waiting for Number 4 by Nick Brice
A psychopath waits for her next victim at a bus stop - Pam arrives having just lost her husband and meets Loretta who has 'lost' three. Film noir style black comedy.

Borys The Rottweiller by Christopher Johnson
Borys finds his new neighbours and affront to his status and masculinity and is provoked to regain face in the most emphatic way. Drama.

Sleepless Nights by Jonathan Gavin
The story of a true love found around the other side of the world through the eyes and ears of the 2 couples. Romantic comedy.

A really wonderful effort and a wonderful set of plays. Well done all and congratulations to the writers for packing in so much in such short time. So many people seem to really value this format as a neat addition to longer playworks.

RE: Mike Hunt - I respectfully disagree.
I particularly enjoyed the play with the couple in the bed. SN/SM.
It had a pleasent feel to the what can/could be difficult situation.
The young mans performance, very real and honest well acted.
The Red head girls very vulnerable, Loverly and warm ending.  Lets See some more please.
