Gabriel Byrne plays Dr Paul Weston
Gabriel’s career began in London’s Royal Court Theatre but he soon made his screen debut in soap opera The Riordans. His film breakthrough came with Excalibur, a role that led him to further success in films such as The Usual Suspects and Stigmata. His role in In Treatment has been critically acclaimed, collecting a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Nomination for his portrayal of Dr Paul Weston.

Melissa George plays Laura
Melissa George began her acting career in the Australian soap Home and Away before leaving Australia for a film career in the US. She had small roles in many films, including Mulholland Drive and Down With Love, before landing the role of Lauren Reed in the hit series Alias. She has since appeared in many TV series, including Friends and Grey’s Anatomy. Melissa was nominated as Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globe Awards for her fierce portrayal of Laura in In Treatment.

Blair Underwood plays Alex
Blair Underwood sharpened his acting claws on The Cosby Show before tackling the role of Jonathan Rollins in the hit drama series L.A. Law. He has since appeared in a variety of popular films and television shows, including Sex And The City and Dirty Sexy Money. Blair has been nominated for many awards for his portrayal of Alex in In Treatment, including a Golden Globe and Image Awards.

Mia Wasikowska plays Sophie
Australian actress Mia Wasikowska grew up studying ballet, switching to acting only in 2006. In Treatment’s Sophie is her first major role, but she’s one to keep an eye on for the future. She’s already filmed Amelia with Hilary Swank and starred as Alice in the forthcoming Alice in Wonderland movie with Johnny Depp.

Josh Charles plays Jake
American actor Josh Charles began his film career on a high, starring alongside Robin Williams and Ethan Hawke in the Oscar-winning Dead Poets Society. His subsequent films didn’t find the same level of success, but Josh’s portrayal of sports anchor Dan Rydell in Sports Night gained him a Screen Actors Guild nomination. His portrayal of Jake in In Treatment has been critically acclaimed.

Embeth Davidtz plays Amy
Embeth made her acting debut in a stage production of Romeo and Juliet in Cape Town but soon moved to films, acting in small-budget South African films and receiving the South African equivalent of an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of a rape victim in Night of the 19th.
After moving to Los Angeles in the early 90s, Embeth appeared in many television films before Stephen Spielberg cast her in Schindler’s List. She went on to appear in many other films, including Bicentennial Man and Bridget Jones’s Diary, before taking on the role of amy in In Treatment.

Dianne Wiest plays Dr Gina Toll
Dianne began her acting career at an early age, leaving her theatre studies at university to tour with a Shakespearean troupe in the US. She performed in various stage shows on and off Broadway before establishing her film career in Woody Allen movies. She won an Oscar for her role in Allen’s Hannah and Her Sisters in 1986, and continued her Oscar run with a nomination for Parenthood. Awards never far off her radar, she also received an Emmy Award for her role in as Gina in In Treatment.

Rodrigo Garcia, Executive Producer, Director, Writer
Rodrigo Garcia was born in Colombia and grew up in Mexico City. His credits as director of photography include Danzon (directed by Maria Novaro); Mi Vida Loca (directed by Allison Anders) and GIA (directed by Michael Cristofer).
His features as writer and director are Things You Can Tell Just By Looking At Her (Fodation Gan Award, Cannes 2000), Ten Tiny Love Stories, Fathers And Sons, and Nine Lives (Winner - Locarno Film Festival, 2005).
Rodrigo directed for the HBO series Six Feet Under, Carnivale, and The Sopranos. He also directed the pilot episodes of Six Degrees, and was nominated for an Emmy Award for his direction of the pilot episode of Big Love.
Rodrigo is the Executive Producer/Director/Writer for HBO's new series, IN TREATMENT, starring Gabriel Byrne and Dianne Wiest.
