What a splendid repeat. It’s such a long time since I last saw this drama and even then, I missed a few episodes. Now I’ve been able to follow it almost to its conclusion and I find the story even more compelling as I hadn’t realized first time around just on how many levels the drama plays out, both for the Brits in India and each of the main characters. Well done to Sky for broadcasting it again. How about ‘Fortunes of War’ next?

It appeared that the last episode (14) was only broadcast in HD. We had our Virgin recorder on the series link and it didn’t pick up this episode. What a disappointment having watched and enjoyed the whole of the rest of the series. I watched it in the 80’s too so can’t remember how it ended!
